When it comes to animals that love the heat or at least are very prepared for it the camel is at the top of the list. When you learn about camels as a child you might think that their large humps contain water so that they can survive the hot desert. They also are able to take in around 20 gallons of water at a time and that means that they can go longer before needing it again. Desert Tortoise

You might not think this type of animal likes the hot temperatures because of where it will spend a lot of their time. They actually spend about 90% of their life in a burrow that is dug out of the ground. This is to regulate their temperature. When it is nice a hot out the desert tortoise will emerge from the burrow and search out food as well as a partner to reproduce with. They are a beautiful specimen that many people love to look at. The ostrich is a large flightless bird that has to be able to adapt to the area they live. This is often the hot nation of Africa where they have hot long days. The ostrich is able to use their large wings full of feathers that work like a giant shade tree. Their bare skin is susceptible to the sun and they are necessary to protect them. They are great at being able to control their body temperature which allows them the ability to be in the hot temperatures without over heating.

Meerkats

These interesting animals are a fun loving and family orientated animal. They live in large groups and they love to sit out in the sun and sunbath. They only have a thin layer of fur and they have black skin on their belly which allows them to soak up the sun if they need to. they can then switch over to their belly to cool down with ease.
