Wood Chainsaw Carvings of Common Zoo Animals; Tiger, Lion, Goat, Macaw, Giraffe & More

Lions, tigers and bears are commonly found in zoos. Where many activists do not feel a wild animal should be held in captivity, most zoo animals are spared the harsh reality of living in the wild and give people the opportunity to see, appreciate, admire, and celebrate these beautiful animals. People naturally fill drawn to different animals. Some favor domesticated dogs or cats, where others feel more connected to lions or wolves. Zoos give people who are drawn to the opportunity to see them up close. Where Carve Me A Bear! Chainsaw Carvings produces unique one-of-a-kind chainsaw carvings of a variety of these animals, we thought it would be great to list some of the most common zoo animals.

Favorite Zoo Animals

Tiger: The top-most popular animal in zoos is the tiger. Most zoos care for the Amur tigers because they don’t require heating houses, making them less expensive to provide for. In the wild, there are only about 4,000 adults, making them an endangered species. There are more Amur tigers in zoos than in the wild as many people are trying to preserve their species.
Lion: Lions are among the most common animals loved in a zoo. Also known as king of the animals, lions are often described as majestic and formidable, and like all babies, the cubs are adorable. Though most lions have African origins, there are some zoos that have lions that originated from Asia.
Ring-tailed lemur: It is no surprise there are primates that are popular in zoos. Lemurs are actually the most common primate representative. Ring-tailed lemurs are not just common in zoos, but are frequently stars in tales, film, and cartoons. They are very active and cute animals and breed well in zoos. In the wild, Ring-tailed lemurs are endangered, so the high popularity only helps these species survival.
Goat: Surprisingly, goats are among the most popular in zoos though they are often found domesticated and living with people. Occupying a prominent place in this hierarchy the goat is one of the fittest animals in the world. As a very undemanding animal, the kids are in awe by them, which is why they are often found in the zoo.
Blue-and-yellow macaw: The flying ornaments are always a must at any zoo. Though rather noisy, which attracts little ones, parrots are rather beautiful. Blue-and-yellow are the most popular of parrots, but there are many varieties found in zoos.
Giraffe: I doubt there is a zoo that does not include a giraffe. Giraffes are actually one of the most challenging animals as they are not cheap to maintain and care for, but the high demand keeps them living the posh life in zoos.
Boa constrictor: Not only popular in zoos, this very large, but docile snake is also a popular pet. They are good for reptile shows and their educational and entertainment value is also high. You can see them anywhere as dangerous beasts of stories from the Bible to science fiction and in films.
