Yellow Crested Cockatoo: The yellow crested cockatoo also goes by the name Sulphur crested cockatoo. The yellow crested is not a bird that you can have in a cage all the time and leave in a quiet room. They need to have plenty of room to play and someone that knows how to handle them. They have beautiful full white feathers on the entire body with yellow above the crest. They can stand up the crest and show off the hidden yellow coloring. If you have a cockatoo such as a yellow crested and you don’t spend enough time with them they can start to pluck their feathers.
Moluccan Cockatoo: One thing that sets these cockatoos apart from others is they are very loving. They usually bond fast with their owners and will show a large amount of affection. They like to be held close, have their feathers petted and talked to. Now that you know they are clingy be sure to have plenty of time to spend with them. They can become depressed and start to pull their feathers if they don’t get enough attention. They also need space, toys and attention to keep them happy. They have a very soft peach main body with a short fanned out tail. They have a hidden crest that when opened up has a stunning orange crest. They are a great option for a cockatoo to be made into a chainsaw carvng.
Black Palm Cockatoo: This is not a cockatoo that is often chosen as a pet. They need some special attention and training so they can be handled. They often need to be hand fed from both to get them to be handled well. They can show some aggression if you don’t know what you are looking for so be sure to have experience if you get one of these. They have an amazing dark grey coat and a beautiful spaced out crest.
