You are sitting at your cabin looking outside enjoying the beautiful scenery around you. What do you see far in the distance that is walking toward your cabin? It is a bear! You get so excited that you just saw a bear. You get your camera out and start taking as many pictures as you can. Bears can be the most adorable creatures and you finally saw one. Why not make a place a constant reminder of the rare sighting? Let Carve Me A Bear! Chainsaw Carvings teach you a little bit about bears and then carve you a wooden bear to proudly display.
Are All Bears Social or Solitary?
Most bears are solitary, they like to live and roam alone. Except for mating season and a mother with her cubs. A mother bear is always following her cubs. If you see a cub a mother bear is not far away. A mother bear and her cubs can be such an adorable sight. Having a carving of one bear or one with some smaller cubs would be a fantastic conversation piece when entertaining company.
Bears are Curious
Bears are very curious animals. They like to inspect everything. They are especially curious about smells and sounds. They want to find out if it is something they can get or play with. They do a lot of sniffing around trying to find stuff and figure out what is going on. Often when a bear stands up it is because it is trying to get a better smell or better view of what it is trying to figure out. Having a bear standing up and being curious about something would be an incredible carving to have.
Do Bears Hibernate or Torpor?
Bears don’t actually hibernate in the sense that when they sleep they cannot be woken up all winter. Bears go into what is called torpor. This means it is a deep sleep, but if there is a loud noise or a disturbance they will wake up. They do go into caves or holes for the winter to keep out of the snow. Since bears like to sleep during the winter, wouldn’t a wood carving of a sleeping bear be perfect?
Are Bears Good Climbers?
Some bears (like black bears) are excellent climbers. They can climb a tree with surprisingly great speed. Other bears like grizzlies don’t climb trees mainly because of their size, but their cubs can and do climb trees. The bears will climb trees for safety, food, rest, and for playing. A bear climbing a tree can be a charming thing. A wood carving of a bear climbing a tree would be a wonderful accent to any rustic decor.
