Carve Me A Bear! Chainsaw Carving Lists Famous Moose Characters as Inspiration for Your Chainsaw Carving

Bullwinkle J. Moose (Rocky’s Friend): You may have heard of these two fun loving characters named Rocky J Squirrel and Bullwinkle J Moose. The show was started in the late 1950’s and aired for several years with a great run. The show changed named at some point but all the characters remained the same. Bullwinkle is a fictional character based on a moose. The moose is large animal that has huge antlers and is the largest member of the deer family. Bullwinkle in the show is a fun loving and seemingly docile creature that seems to be a bit dim witted. Although he seems to never know exactly what is going on he is smarter than he lets on.
Thidwick The Big-Hearted Moose by Dr. Seuss: This is a book that was written by Dr. Seuss and is in a large series of rhyming books that were released. This book goes through a day of this well-mannered moose named Thidwick. He is a gracious host and has to put up with being used by other members of the forest such as a bird nesting and bugs living on his antlers. Thidwick wants to be a gracious host and wants to be sure that all his guests have a good time and does all he can to not disturb them. When the times comes for Thidwick to cross the river to the rest of the herd he has to decide what to do. In the end with hunters after him he sheds his antlers and makes it safely away to the herd. The rest of the forest pests that took advantage of him did not meet as good of a future and ended the book stuffed on the hunter’s wall.
Disney’s Morris the Midget, Balsam & Thunderclap Moose: A 1950 Disney Short tells the story of Morris, a four-year-old moose, who is the laughing stock among all the other moose, partly because he is a small moose with large antlers. One day he meets up with Balsam, a large moose with very small antlers. Morris and Balsam became good friends and work together to defeat the strongest bull moose Thunderclap with Morris standing on Balsam’s back.

How Large & Tall Do Moose Really Grow?

A moose is a huge animal that can reach over six feet tall from hooves to shoulders which is pretty big. That does not include their head or antlers when they are lifted up. They eat a lot of food and can weigh over a thousand pounds. A cool fact about a moose is that they shed their paddles or antlers every year and grow a new set during the spring season. The antlers differ in size depending on the amount of hormones that particular moose has.
